Our work takes us all over country and we shoot in many different settings - churches, castles, pubs, forests, hills and so on. We use many different lenses to capture the perfect moment.
It was these two shots that made me think and exclaim once again wow!

It was not the framing we have taken much better shots with the 50mm that day but the clarity and sharpness the lens provided was out of this world. I could literally see the outline of the conservatory I was standing in, and also myself holding the camera! The clarity is not lost even in the corners of the image. The hair, baby's clothes, hair band and so on are so very clear. This is a dream especially for the price - this Sony lens retails at £200-300. I have most recently used Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM II - top of the range lens. And at roughly 10 times the price of 50mm it did not outwit and outperform the sturdy, artsy and average looking 50mm.

50mm has always been one of them lenses, where you have to be connected with the camera. You have to move left, right, up or down to capture the shot! You cannot zoom in and out and in many respects fake the shot. My dad used to be a wedding and portrait photographer in the 1980s and lots of our pictures are truly out of this world. Guess what? These were taken on 50mm.
